Future support for Microsoft Windows XP
at count of days.
Within 496 days or exactly on 6 April
2014, Microsoft will discontinue all support, whether security update
patches or fixes, more than 500 million users of Windows XP.
It is still quite a long time, but
Windows XP users should get ready to upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows
8.
Because when this support ended in
2014, Microsoft is not going to give an update at all. Thus, Windows
and the data on it is vulnerable to attacks from the Internet and
viruses.
Some companies reportedly are preparing
to take advantage of the discontinuation of support for Microsoft
Windows XP.
Quoted from ZDNet, Tuesday (November
27,2012), some companies have started to offer packages to migrate to
the operating system version on Windows XP. When your "dead"
Windows XP is getting closer, then the price of the package is
expected to increase.
Network security company also predicted
earnings can take a lot. They can set a high price for a security
solution for Windows XP to companies who wish to continue using the
operating system.
Even, it would not be considered so
influential on Microsoft because the operating system is already old
and decided not supported anymore.
According to Netmarketshare, there are
currently about 50.5 percent of users who are using Windows 7 or
Vista. Meanwhile XP users have 40.7 percent.
